A simple puff pastry snack, but let's be honest, everything made with puff pastry is delicious! You do need some patience, though, to make beautiful Fagottini. Unfortunately, I don't manage this every time... But if you have more patience and creativity, I am sure you will make them even more beautiful than I did!

Luckily, it is all about the taste, so if you are not very familiar with this, you can still make these snacks and simply fold them up; so fold them however you like!

Ingredients

  • puff pastry

  • Mortadella with pistachio

  • Emmentaler

  • 1 egg

  • pistachio pieces

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

Cut the Mortadella into small pieces and the Emmental into cubes. I just buy a pack of both, cut everything up, and based on that, I see how many Fagottini it yields.

Cut the puff pastry into rectangles and place some Mortadella and a cube of Emmental in the center. Now fold one corner diagonally to the other corner, so that it forms a small triangle.

Beat an egg in a small bowl and spread it on the ends and in the middle. Now press the middle down to create a dimple.

Bake the Fagottini in the oven for 10 minutes. Remove them and fill the cavities in the center with the pistachio pieces. Put them back in the oven for another 5 minutes.

It can happen that fast, your Fagottini are ready!

Buon appetito!
