Menu course

As you might have noticed, this is the first dessert recipe. To be honest, I’m not that much of a fan of making desserts, but I’m not a big fan of desserts in general either. However, since we got a KitchenAid, I’ve started delving deeper into desserts. And guess what? This happens to be a dessert I made *without* a KitchenAid haha, are you still following?!

This is actually one of my favorite desserts I’ve made so far; it’s a refreshing dessert and therefore ideal for a warm summer evening. Tip: prepare it the evening before!

Ingredients

  • 250 ml milk

  • 250 ml whipping cream

  • 70 g sugar

  • 40 mint leaves

  • 3 sheets of gelatin

  • 250 g strawberries

Preparation

Bring the milk, cream, 50g sugar, and mint leaves to a boil in a saucepan. Meanwhile, place the gelatin sheets in a small bowl of water.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it rest for about 10 minutes, then strain out all the mint leaves. Put the saucepan back on the heat and add the gelatin sheets (squeeze them well before adding them to the pan). Stir well and then divide the mixture among 4 glasses.

Place in the refrigerator and let it stand for at least 3 hours, but preferably a whole day.

Now add the strawberries and the remaining 20g of sugar to a saucepan and heat for about 15 minutes. Mash the mixture finely and place it in the refrigerator as well.

As soon as you are ready to serve the dessert, divide the strawberry purée among the glasses and finish with some strawberry pieces and mint leaves.

Buon appetito!
